I on the other hand am subdued and not very concerned because I am not a fan of the football World Cup. See I am not a big fan of football to begin with and it gets even worse when it comes to the World Cup.
- The main reason is that players tend to play it "safe". It is very different from club matches where one sees alot of tricks, goals and alot of good players in a team.
- The 2006 World Cup was absolute shambles as far as I was concerned. For instance, Ronaldinho is an excellent player but the fact that he did not dribble the ball once during that tournament drove me insane!
- And for Italy to win on penalties was just painful. The fact that teams were relying on penalties to win the tournament was just infuriating! It is just so difficult to see good matches in a World Cup game because the stakes are so high and everyone is afraid to make any mistakes. No one dares to take any risks.
- It is also not possible for players to gel well in a team as well as they do in a club team because they do not play together as often as they do with their club colleagues.
